Photo: Roy Forcier Origins The first time I ever picked up a volleyball and stepped onto the court was in the summer of 1992 right after high school graduation. I was turned onto volleyball by my long time friend Jeff Cernicky, as I was searching for a new sport to learn! Here's to all those years of tying the net between two oak trees in Elk Grove's city park and using soda cans for boundary corners. What a way to learn a sport!!
